Gillas Lane Primary Academy

Welcome to our school

Our Breakfast Club takes place in our Nurture Room every morning and enables parents who work a place where children can play safely before and after the school day begins.  The Club is charged at 50p per child per morning session and is open to all children from Reception to Year 6.  Whilst our Breakfast Club is funded by the Greggs Foundation staff costs are funded by the school.

Children will be offered toast, cereal and a drink and can access the club from 8:00am but before 8:25am to receive their breakfast.  Children will go to their classes straight from the club at 8:50am.

Healthy Teeth Award

We are working together with South Tyneside Foundation Trust to promote healthy teeth within our breakfast club.  Pauline Wright the Oral Health Promotor has been into school to talk to all the children about the importance of healthy teeth.

Children who attend our breakfast club are given a 'healthy bag' containing a toothbrush, toothpaste and a sticker chart.  This will encourage children to brush their teeth after their breakfast and then they will be rewarding with a sticker.
