Creative & Performing Arts
We place great value on creativity and self‑expression; we want our Gillas kids to express themselves confidently, developing a strong sense of personal identity. Our enrichment programme includes a wide range of arts‑based opportunities that allow pupils to discover talents and grow in confidence.
Performances: Throughout the year families are invited to see their children perform. Harvest festival, Nativity, Spring showcase. . . our Gillas kids always put on a great performance with many of them fighting for the spotlight - they love a good solo and choreographed dance routine!
Secondary School Link: We ensure our pupils are exposed to high quality live performances that will inspire and create a love of the arts! We work closely with our Secondary feeder school and often visit as the audience for the dress rehearsal of their upcoming show – a great way of showing the children what is possible in their future years!
Theatre Visits: The children annually experience an in-school pantomime and this year, our Year 4 class visited the Empire to watch the musical Matilda. This has inspired us to start planning our very own medley of theatrical songs – watch this space!
Art Day: During a pupil voice session, one of our Year 5 children envisioned a day full of art, split into different focuses across the day. A fantastic idea? We thought so too! Here’s what the children thought. . .
